Mini ProgramMini Program

(2 – 5 years old)

For our youngest dancers! Open to students ages 2 - 5 years. The focus of our mini program is to offer a fun introduction to dance, while providing the necessary foundation to enter into either the Performance (Competitive) or Recreational program.

Classes Offered

Tiny Toes
A fun introduction to ballet basics for 3 year olds. Classes are 30min/week.

Preschool Ballet
Creativity and age appropriate ballet technique are introduced. Students must be 4 years old or have completed one term of Tiny Toes. Classes are 45min/week.

Kinder Combo Classes
These 60 min classes provide instruction in two dance disciplines. 5 year olds may enrol in either the Ballet/Tap or Ballet/Jazz class. Classes are 60min/week

12 week programming
Creative Duo a class suitable for 2 year olds. This parented class explores elements of Creative Dance. Classes are 30min/week
Creative Dance is a fun introduction to the world of dance for 3 -4 year olds. Classes will introduce young dancers to themes such as levels, shapes and rhythms through the use of song and movement games. Classes are 30min/week
Mommy & Me Ballet A class for 3 - 5 year olds who wish to explore ballet in a parented class. Allows children to gain familiarity with our staff and the world of dance. Classes are 30min/week.

Recreational

(6+ years old)

RecreationalThe recreational program is designed for students age
6 years and older who take dance for fun and exercise. These students are able to register in as many classes
as they like per week including tap, jazz, ballet, musical theater, and hip hop. Adult hip hop, tap and modern classes are also available. These classes will perform in the annual recital in June. Students interested in jazz, tap or ballet exams may be entered upon approval of
the instructor.

Classes Offered

Ballet
We follow the Canadian Dance Teacher's Association (CDTA) syllabus. Classes are 60min/week.

Tap
Rhythmic patterns and timely beats are explored with the use of tap shoes. Based on the ADAPT dance syllabus. Classes are 60min/week.

Jazz
An upbeat class where flexibility and strength are put to use in high-energy choreography. We follow the ADAPT dance syllabus. Classes are 60min/week.

Stretch and Strengthen
Focuses on developing flexibility and strength. Strongly encouraged for students in ballet and jazz classes. Classes are 45min/week

Hip Hop
Full of funky music and choreography. Classes are 45min/week.

Musical Theatre
Incorporates dancing, singing, and acting. Must also be enrolled in another dance class. Classes are 60min/week and run January - June.

Performance

(6+ years old)

Perforamce TeamThis program is designed for students 6 years and older, wishing to make a stronger commitment to the study of dance. Depending on their age and level, students may be required to enrol in choreography as well as technique classes. These students are members of a special team of dancers that are given extra performance opportunities through participation in dance festivals in and around the Edmonton area. Students must be enrolled in one ballet class/week and may also enrol in jazz, ballet, tap, lyrical/contemporary, modern, musical theater, and/or hip hop. These students are also given the opportunity to participate in solo, duet, and small group work. These classes will also participate in our annual recital in June.

Classes Offered

Ballet
We follow the Canadian Dance Teacher's Association (CDTA) syllabus. Classes are 60min/week. Students Grade 3 and higher and are required to take a minimum of 2 classes/week.

Tap
Rhythmic patterns and timely beats are explored with the use of tap shoes. Based on the ADAPT dance syllabus. Classes are 60min/week.

Jazz
An upbeat class where flexibility and strength are put to use in high-energy choreography. We follow the ADAPT dance syllabus. Classes start at 60min/week

Stretch and Strengthen
Focuses on developing flexibility and strength. Required for students enrolled in Pre-Intermediate jazz and higher. Classes are 45min/week

Hip Hop
Full of funky music and choreography. Classes are 45min/week.

Lyrical and Lyrical/Contemporary
A class that draws on ballet and jazz technique to tell a storey or portray an emotion. Junior Lyrical students must be a minimum of 8 years old. Pre-Intermediate and higher students also explore contemporary movement. Classes start at 45min/week.

Modern
This class explores Modern movement through study of Modern technique such as Horton and Simonson. Students must be a minimum of 12 years old. Classes are 60min/week.

Musical Theatre
Incorporates dancing, singing, and acting. Must also be enrolled in another dance class. Classes are 60min/week and run January - June.

Adult

The Adult program is designed for adults wanting dance for fun and exercise. These students are able to register in as many classes as they like per week including ballet/yoga, jazz, hip hop, tap and modern. With the exception of jazz, these classes do not perform in the annual recital in June. Adults may enrol in 12 week sessions, or take classes on a drop-in basis.

Classes Offered

Ballet/Yoga
This class focuses on the use of both Ballet technique and yoga exercises to help develop strength, flexibility and posture. Suitable for those with 0 - 3 years experience. Scheduled Mondays 7:45 - 8:45pm

Jazz
An upbeat class where flexibility and strength are put to use in high-energy choreography. Opportunity for competition and recital performances. This class is at the Intermediate/Advanced Level. Previous cheer or dance experience required. Scheduled Mondays 8:45 - 9:45pm.

Hip Hop
Full of funky music and choreography. Suitable for those with all levels of experience. Scheduled Tuesdays 9:00 - 10:00pm.

Tap
Rhythmic patterns and timely beats are explored with the use of tap shoes. Based on the ADAPT dance syllabus. Suitable for those with 0 - 3 years experience. Scheduled Wednesdays 7:45 - 8:45pm

Modern
This class explores contemporary modern technique. Students will experience a contemporary warm-up, strengthening exercises and modern choreography. Drawing on Simonson Modern technique. Scheduled Thursdays 8:00 - 9:00pm
